#282 When your son's EQ is higher than yours

When you go into your stepsons bedroom to say goodnight and he says, “So you’re going to be a stepmom and a mom.” I responded, “Yes, how cool is that?!” to which he replied, “Yes. None of my friends have stepmoms. They asked if you were my evil stepmom, and I told them no. You were the nicest. I am really so very lucky.”

My heart melted in that moment, and I said, “No, I am the luckiest. You are the best kid in the world, and I’m so beyond lucky to have you in my life.” I gave him a hug and kiss, before tucking him in bed and walking back to my room with tears in my eyes. I am truly the luckiest.
