When you're on thew subway and the conductor comes on the speaker to tell you that, due to technical difficulties, the train will no longer be in service and all passengers will have to leave the train, which could totally suck for your commute into work. However, the station the train stops at is yours, so you don't need to find an alternate route to the office, you're on time, and all is right with the world once more.
