AFTER SCHOOL TV WITH SISTERS - I don’t know that many people who like school during junior high or high school for that matter. The best part of school is when it finishes around 3:15pm so that you can be home no later than 3:45pm with plenty of time to make popcorn and get ready for your favourite shows starting at 4:00pm. Your sister calls the ‘corner seat’ because you’re far too busy with the popcorn to remember about seating positions. But it’s okay because there’s plenty of room on the L-shaped sofa to curl up under a blanket and watch Different Strokes, Family Ties, Silver Spoons and The Facts of Life. Your breathing becomes slowed and your heart rate decreases as you hear the opening song from ‘The Facts of Life’ and sing along, “You take the good. You take the bad. You take them both and there you have, The facts of life, the facts of life. There’s a time you got to go and show you’re growin‘ now you know about the facts of life, The facts of life. When the world never seems to be livin’ up to your dreams. And suddenly you’re finding out the facts of life are all about you, you. It takes a lot to get ‘em right when you’re learning the facts of life. (learning the facts of life). Learning the facts (learning the facts of life). Learning the facts of life.”
